ROCK CLIMBING AT MOODY BEACH & BIOLUMINESCENT KAYAK TOUR

Program Details:

• Guests are picked up from their accommodation in Cat Ba Town and transferred to the climbing center to prepare equipment and gear.

• A boat ride takes you to the selected climbing spot — either Moody Beach or Tiger Beach, depending on your experience level.

Rock Climbing Experience:

• Professional climbing guides set up ropes and assist you throughout the session.

• All levels are welcome, from beginners to intermediate climbers.

• Learn the basics of climbing safety, communication, knot tying, and technique.

• Routes range from 4c to 6b+, with spectacular views of Lan Ha Bay from the top.

• After climbing, relax on the beach or enjoy a refreshing swim in the turquoise waters as the sun sets.

Dinner & Bioluminescent Kayaking:

• After climbing, enjoy a traditional Vietnamese dinner at a floating house in the bay.

• Join your guide for a kayaking tour in the dark, where you’ll witness the incredible bioluminescence of plankton glowing beneath your paddle.

• For an extra thrill, you can even swim and see your body shimmer in the glowing water.

Rock Climbing at Moody Beach & Bioluminescent Kayak Tour

12:30pm - 9:00pm

Depending on the level of the customer, we will climb ropes at Moody or Tiger beach

12:00 pm : Pick-up from your hotel in Cat Ba Town to the office.

12:30 pm : at the office, try on shoes and pick up equipment.

1:00pm The car will pick you up at the office to go to Beo wharf, then get on the boat to go to the climbing point. It takes 30 minutes to get to the climbing point where you will find climbs ranging from 4+ to 6b+. Then, our professional guides will set up the top rope and support you while you're climbing.

Start climbing while the guides belay and instruct you from below. 

• Based on each one’s climbing experience and strength, the guides will recommend you the routes you should try. There is no time limit in climbing – this is the first step to introduce you to climbing technique, challenge and defeat your own fear. Our guides will be your coaches and supporters to help you complete the climbing routes. During the trip, the guides will give you a course about tying the figure 8-knots, communicating in technical terms, and you’ll learn the names of different movements on the wall. A quick introduction about the climbing devices will help you understand the importance of safety in climbing.
• The reward for every climb is the wonderful view of Lan Ha Bay from the top of the route. The guides will lower you down, then you can relax on the beach or swimming in the refreshing water.
• Our rock climbing trip will take place on Moody Beach, Lan Ha Bay. This beach is a great crag for beginning and intermediate climbers, with 6 routes graded from 4c to 6b. Aside from one overhanging climb, routes are all vertical. Rock quality is very good, with numerous good holds and ledges to rest.

1. MAO DE – 5a, 21m, 10 bolts. Start from a stone a few meters right of the line. Climb diagonally up and leftward to an exposed step and small chimney finish.
2. BAREFOOT VIETNAMESE – 6b+, 15m, 10 bolts. The most challenging route in the crag, with nice overhang movements.
3. KHONG CO GI – 4c, 14m, 6 bolts. Climb up the big boulder and follow the chimney to the top. The upper section can be a bit tricky.
4. HONEYMOONER’S DELIGHT – 5a, 11m, 6 bolts. Climb the arete to the top of the pillar. Traverse up and left through  a series of pockets to the top.
5. ROUTINE HEAVEN – 6a, 20m, 9 bolts. Two meters of tricky climbing at the second bolt make the grade. The rest is pure fun.
6. DO IT FOR BILLY JOEL – 5a, 20m, 8 bolts. Follow the line of least resistance up the big chimney.

After climbing the rope, swimming and relaxing on the beach watching the beautiful sunset at the beach. The boat continues to take you to the floating house, here we will enjoy a traditional Vietnamese dinner.

8:00pm - 8:30pm: The guide will take the kayak, and you will join our knowledgeable tour guide for an exceptional kayaking experience in the dark. Immerse yourself in one of nature's most enchanting wonders as our guides lead you to areas bathed in the mesmerizing glow of plankton bioluminescence. If you want, take a refreshing swim to witness your own sparkling silhouette on the water.

9:00pm: Return to Cat Ba Climbing office. This is the end of your unforgettable tour, leaving you with memories to cherish for a lifetime.
